6 billion Others

Yann Arthus-Bertrand, with Sybille d’Orgeval and Baptiste Rouget-Luchaire, launched the project “6 Billion Others”.
5,000 interviews were filmed in 75 countries by 6 directors who went in search of the Others.

From a Brazilian fisherman to a Chinese shopkeeper, from a German performer to an Afghan farmer, all answered the same questions about their fears, dreams, ordeals, hopes:

What have you learnt from your parents? What do you want to pass on to your children? What difficult circumstances have you been through? What does love mean to you?

Forty or so questions that help us to find out what separates and what unites us. These portraits of humanity today are  accessible on this website.

Terence McKenna

Ideas

There are these things, which I call "self transforming machine elves," I also call them self-dribbling basketballs. They are, but they are none of these things. I mean you have to understand: these are metaphors in the truest sense, meaning that they're lies! [...] I name them 'Tykes' because tyke is a word that means to me a small child, ... and when you burst into the DMT space this is the Aeon - it's a child, and it's at play with colored balls, and I am in eternity, apparently, in the presence of this thing.
—Terence McKenna, "Time and Mind",
Terence McKenna advocated the exploration of altered states of mind via the ingestion of naturally occurring psychedelic substances. For example, and in particular, as facilitated by the ingestion of high doses of psychedelic mushrooms, and DMT, which he believed was the apotheosis of the psychedelic experience. He spoke of the "jeweled, self-dribbling basketballs" or "self-transforming machine elves" that one encounters in that state.

Potential

"There is a hope in raindrops, it means that every drop of rain holds the promise of regrowth."

We're still alive, although we do not know why or why not. Someone wrote that somewhere inside the raindrops lives hope for regrowth and the drops do not know it. What if the purpose of our existence is also hidden from us? Or maybe it just tales of psychologists who serve for manipulation.

Almost all probably have at least one ask, in the right direction has spent his potential, or maybe they do in vain. Most are struggling to prove that there is a God just to justify their existence, others deny its existence are to justify their inteligence. An atheist and philosopher (Daniel Dennett), in 2007
